Cerimonies
Christenings
According to the Christian tradition, every human being is born with original sin. Catholic christening would serve to cancel this sin and it is no coincidence that it represents the first official contact with the Christian Church.
Music is usually performed at these stages of the ceremony:
-
in the moment of silence at the end of the short homily, before the prayers of the faithful
-
when the delivery of the white robe takes place, after the words of the celebrant
-
during the lighting of the candle at the Easter candle
Funerals
The last farewell is the most difficult and the choice of music to accompany the farewell are varied.
These are the moments of the religious funeral ceremony that lend themselves to a musical accompaniment:
-
entrance to the coffin
-
hallelujah
-
offertory
-
consecration
-
communion
-
incensation and sprinkling
-
coffin exit.
